Upcycling

We upcycle vintage Kimono, Obi, and Denim, and create new pieces by combining them or combining them with new materials that we source in such a way as sustainable as possible. We source many Kimono and Obi that are sold only for remake purpose due to some damages or stains.

About Kaori

Originally from Japan, and have spent almost half of my life in London.

Having learned dressmaking and design in London (while working in the travel industry), I specialize in women's clothing and apparel including fabric manipulation such as ruching, pleating, and draping. After having a child, I started a kids' line using a lot of fun and colourful materials.(the brand name is KOCOKIDS) Now my little one is not so little and I decided to restart the adult line. I rediscovered the beauty of my country's culture, and have started upcycling vintage kimono and obi (traditional belt sash). I really enjoy using traditional materials to create modern style items. I also self-taught indigo dye - aizome - and hand-dye clothing and accessories in our garden at London home. I would like to introduce you to modern apparels made with traditional Japanese creation, that you can enjoy wearing or using in a daily life.
